We live in a fast paced world that makes us want a quick fix to everything. There is a whole myriad of things that we want quick… food, internet speed, transportation systems that will get us there quicker, wealth, etc.

We even want to build that dream house real quick! We want everything now. More and more, we are becoming impatient. We are putting less thoughts into building things and lives that will last and stand the test of time and storms.

Any good builder will tell you that a lot of thoughts and time goes into making the foundation solid for any building.

If you’re now building a sky scraper, you need even more time and effort put into the foundation. It has to be deep and strong enough to bear the burden of such a building. You’ve got to find the bedrock buried deep within the ground.

This takes a lot of time and effort. A lot of patience. Otherwise, that building will not stand tall and strong in the face of the elements it will be subjected to.

In the same way, if you want to build a life for yourself that reaches high into the skies, a life that others see as an edifice, you need a solid foundation on the bedrock that lies deep with Christ.

The deeper your life is based on Him, the higher you can build! Your foundation determines the strength of your building. Whatever you build your life to be, make sure the foundation is a sure one – Yeshua.

Prayer

Father, help us to understand how to make You our sure foundation. Help to build a constantly deepening relationship with You that we may achieve all our tall and sky reaching in Yeshua.

Grant us patience to pay the price to find that bedrock that will keep us standing, strong and faithful through the test of time, in Yeshua’s mighty name. #Selah.
