When I was much younger, I used to wonder why some married couples looked alike. I even sometimes wondered whether some of them had actually married their own sibling, funny!

They not only looked alike, they also acted and spoke alike. It was, to me, a mystery. But now, that I have been married for nearly two decades myself, I have long since gained understanding.

I now understand that intimacy with someone makes you act like them, talk like them, have the same mannerisms and even look like them!

No wonder, the disciples of Jesus were recognised as such based only on the actions, manner of speech and their looks. They were acting exactly like Jesus and the people said, they must have been (intimate) with Him.

You see, intimacy with God should change you into being His mirror image. Love, compassion, power, and in fact the personality of Christ should showcase your intimacy with God.

You would need not announce or tell people who you are because they can see it in your actions, your speech and way of life. Everything about you will scream GOD!

Because, the more time we spend in His presence, beholding His face and studying the Word, the more we are changed into His exact image. Thereby, letting our lights shine in order to glorify Father’s name!

You should never come out of His presence only to remain the same old you. On the other hand, let His presence truly change and restore God’s glory in your life!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the opportunity to know and truly be like You, so that our lights can truly shine. And so that we can reflect You loving, gracious and merciful character all over the world, in Yeshua’s mighty name. #Selah.
