Righteousness, Not Service

Posted OnAugust 11, 2021 0

Abraham is our father of faith. Why? Because Yahweh chose him. Why did Yahweh choose him? Because He knew the heart of Abraham, that righteousness dwelt in him and he would teach his children to serve Yahweh in righteousness and justice.

You would have thought Abraham’s busyness in Yahweh’s service would be the very thing that caught Father’s attention. Because when you serve someone, you’re doing their bidding, just to make them happy and comfortable.

Service is however not how to catch God’s attention, no! The reason being that service does not mean your heart is in it or that your heart is right in it. You can be very busy doing all the right things outwardly, but inwardly, you may be all shades of unrighteousness.

In the open, everyone may see how hard you’re working in the house of The Lord, but what do you do in secret when no one but Yahweh is looking?

Then you wonder why favour seems to have deserted you. See, righteousness is that which exalts a nation while sin is a reproach (Proverbs 14:34). Righteousness draws the attention of God, not service that is tainted.

.

It’s not your heart for service that makes Yahweh choose you, but your heart for righteousness. You can give your whole life in service to God, however, it’s your righteousness that will give you an eternity with Him.

What the will be our gain if we work so hard in service, but lose our reward in eternity because we do not pay any attention to the state of our hearts?

Let us pay attention to righteousness and justice, and teach the coming generation to do the same. So that The LORD will choose us over and over again. May we not lose our eternal reward in Yeshua’s mighty name. #Selah
