The scriptures are rife with God’s assurances of His presence and peace. From the first thing you read in Genesis to the very last word in Revelation, Father is always making His faithful presence with us known.

Even when He would chastise of sin, His intention was to let you know that whatever you do, He would rather correct than abandon us.

Why would He go to this great extent to establish us in His peaceful presence? Why, in spite of our straying, would God still keep reassuring us of His ever present help?

This is because He cannot deny Himself. He is a peace loving and peace giving Father. And this will never change. Nothing you do can make Him change His character!

When we are admonished to fear God, it’s just so that His divine presence and peace can take hold and reign supreme in our hearts and lives. The fear of the LORD is the peace that Jesus gives.

The fear of evil, on the other hand, negates the peace of Christ. When you start to be afraid of what’s in the news, of what’s around the corner or even the future, you lose your God given peace.

You cannot fear two masters. The fear of one brings hope, joy, peace and eternal life. Fear of the other brings hopelessness, anxiety and mental health problems. Who will you choose to fear? God has promised to be there. Let His peace reign in your heart!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for always assuring us of your presence and peace. Please help us to never allow the fear of evil take away Your peace reign in us.

Instead, help our hearts remain steadfast and wax strong in being rooted and grounded in Your peaceful presence in Yeshua’s mighty name. #Selah.
