So, when Jesus was leaving the earth, He told His disciples that He would send them His Spirit as a comforter. To lead, guide and empower them for their Christian journey here on earth.

While He was here, they didn’t need His Spirit and it was just a ‘handful’ of them. He was with them. But for the harvest that was to come, we needed the Holy Spirit who can be in all of us at the same time.

Jesus also knew that without the Holy Spirit, we would not be able to live the life and walk the path of righteousness faithfully due to our ‘Adamic’ nature. We needed divine help and Grace.

Every new believer in Christ is endowed with the gift of the Holy Spirit right at the point of believing. The life of Grace can only be lived and must continue to be lived by His help.

We can’t start the journey by His Grace and Spirit, and then get to a certain point where we are able to stand on our own without His help. No, never! At least, while we are still in our physical bodies, we will always have to depend on His strength to carry us.

So, whatever you face in life, know that you don’t have to face it on your own. You don’t have to journey in your own strength. And you don’t have to make it through life, guiding yourself.

Stay in the place of trusting in the power and strength of your Helper and Comforter. He will always lead you to glory and victory.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit. Without Him, we would be lost and bereft. We would live most miserable lives.

Help us to always, always trust in Him. May we never come to the point of wanting to grow apart from Him or believing that we can do all in our own strength in Yeshua’s mighty name. #Selah.
