Come with Thanksgiving and Joy
The other day, one of my kids had asked for something which I thought I was getting for them until they saw it, and it wasn’t exactly what they wanted.
They immediately went into complaints mode (not in a rude way though?); telling me this wasn’t what they requested and so on and so forth. And I just stood there thinking, where was my thanks for even trying ??♀️.
So I pulled them back, just a little, to remind them about actually thanking me first, and then we can look to resolve whatever the issue was with what I had got them.
Sometimes, this is how we are with God. Human parents can get our requests, needs and wants wrong, but never our Father God. However, once we receive something that doesn’t look quite like what we feel is the right thing for us, we moan and forget about all the good things He is blessing us with.
We rush right into prayers with how things are not going our way and how it’s just from one wrong thing to another. Why do we already get the wrong end of the stick. And on and on the tirade goes.
We must outgrow some things as we mature in the faith. We must learn to be appreciative of everything we receive, with the understanding that there is always someone who is worse off than us.
Intentionally come before the presence of the LORD with thanksgiving and joy. Never appear before Him unprepared with your appreciation. Your petition is already known and provided for, don’t let that becloud your heart of gratitude.
Prayer:
I pray that our hearts of gratitude will never fail especially in times of trials. When life gives us lemons, may we remember that some have vinegar, make lemonade and be grateful, in Yeshua’s mighty name. #Selah
Have a beautiful day and stay safe under the blood ? Agape ❤️
