We all have moments when we wish some things were different. These wishes may be fleeting, or they may be long standing wishes. For instance, you may have wished that there was no lock down.

For those who have lost loved ones to this pandemic, their wishes may be that there never was COVID-19, or that they could somehow change things and bring back their loved ones.

Yes, a lot of things are not God’s will for our lives, and those, we seek to change them and bring His will to bear. Things like sickness, disease, poverty, shame and so on. We can seek for Yahweh’s plan for us to stand such cases.

There are other situations though, that God created for you, like the family you were born in, your gender, ethnicity, skin colour etc. Others, life brings, not God. But, we have no control over them either.

God never makes mistakes. You had no choice as to where or to whom you were born. Neither do you have a choice as to what life throws your way.

But you have a choice: to accept that situation you cannot change, and make the best out of it; or to live a life of misery bemoaning your lot in life.

Whatever you’re wishing to be different today, you need to do an evaluation; is this something that I can realistically change? What does God have to do with this? Did He create it like this? Did He put me here Himself? Is this God’s will?

When you know what the will of God is concerning the situation, it’s easier to decide if this is a battle you need to engage and fight for change, or whether trying to change will be going against His divine will.

Prayer:

Father, please help us to stop wasting our time and efforts trying to change things that we cannot change. But rather, to take time to know and understand Your will, thereby putting ourselves in a good position to be all that You have ordained.

Teach our hearts to remain at peace and trust that You always work out what’s best for us in every situation we may find ourselves, in Yeshua’s mighty name. #Selah.
