Slavery the state or condition of being a slave; a civil relationship whereby one person [or something] has absolute power over another and controls his or her life, liberty, and fortune.

This relationship could be legal in that the slave has been rightly enslaved. Or it could be illegal whereby, it has been enforced on the person enslaved.

People could be enslaved in different ways. It could be that you have been enslaved by other people who are ruling over your life in such a way that takes away your freedom to be fulfilled in life.

Situations and circumstances can enslave people too. Also, mindsets, vices, principles, addictions etc can enslave and have dominion over people.

The truth, however, is that every child of God who believes in Christ has been redeemed from slavery to anything or anyone. The blood that Jesus shed is the payment for all that you owed that could have caused your enslavement.

You have been freed from all these and you can live a life that is completely unrestricted. Once you have been set free from enforced slavery, it is now your choice whether you remain bound or you walk free.

How long will you allow that limiting mindset stop you from doing those great things that you have been called to do?

Will you keep allowing that addiction to sin to control you like a puppet?

When will you free yourself from those around you who say to you that you cannot do this or that; you can’t be that good or you’re just living in a fantasy world to think you can be anything great?

Listen! You are a slave to anything or anyone that you allow to control you! It’s all in your hands. Either keep letting them hold you back, or you truly walk free. Look to Yahweh and take on His easy yoke and light burden.

Having self control is a key step to your freedom from bondage. Anything you allow to control you will continue to rule over your life and enslave you.
