Having gone through a few lockdowns in the U.K. in the past nine months or so, I can see how easily our world has slipped into becoming a ‘dessert’.

Travelling to and from work as a healthcare worker and seeing the normally congested motorway almost deserted starkly highlights this fact.

Everyone is forced to go into hiding. God is sovereign and has allowed this situation for a reason. But whatever reason Yahweh has, we need to maximise this time, and make our voices heard in the dessert our world has become.

John the Baptist said this thousands of years ago, and so did our LORD Jesus Christ while he was here as a man. The apostles also proclaimed it throughout their time; ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!’

The world has become a dessert, desperately in need of the Saviour. Will you be the voice in the “dessert world” calling out to the unsaved because the coming of our LORD is near? Let’s loud it now, more than ever. Jesus is coming soon!

Prayer:

Dear Father, we may not fully understand what You’re doing and why, but one thing You asked of us is to preach the Kingdom in and out of season.

Do help us to never keep quiet about how near the Kingdom of heaven is, but to keep echoing the voices of all the saint who have gone ahead of us since the days of John the Baptist.

Grant us wisdom and boldness, and confirm your word with a bountiful harvest of souls coming to the knowledge of your salvation in Yeshua’s mighty name. #Selah
