Back in Nigeria, where I’m originally from, education is everything. Not just any sort of education, but a good one! Children attaining the highest level of education is a pride and joy of every Nigerian parent, at least when I was growing up.

Even when you do go to a university, your course of study also really matters. Studying courses like medicine, law, engineering, pharmacy and the likes put you at the top of the range educationally.

Some parents will do anything to get their kids to be studying courses like these ones. Bribery, use of connections, name it. Just get accepted into one of them! Whether the child has the flair for it or not does not really matter.

Now, what they forget is that it’s one thing to pay for your child to have the best education, and it is another for that child to want to learn that course. Or even to have the head for it.

You can lead a horse to the river, but you cannot force the horse to drink from it. That is why we have professionals in different industries that are not experts at their jobs.

They lack understanding of the mysteries behind their profession because they never had the teachable heart for it. They paid their way through to graduation.

In the same way, the mysteries of the kingdom of God cannot be paid for. It is freely given to those who the Father have chosen.

A teachable heart is given, not earned or paid for through education. Your God given teachable heart is the reason why you know and understand mysteries that the world is grappling with.

The full revelation of the things of God is only given to those who have the passion for Him and who long and pant after His knowledge with all their hearts.

How much of God do you seek after? How much more do you desire to know? That’s how much He will reveal of Himself to you.

Prayer:

Father, please give us hearts and souls that continually long and pant after you regardless of how much we already know of You. Let our souls pant after You just as the deer pants after the water brooks!

And as we do this, LORD, our hearts are opened wide to receive all that You are ready to pour into us. By this, we establish the mysteries of Your kingdom here on earth in a Yeshua’s mighty name. #Selah.
