Tosin Oyelakin penned “Because He Lives” (BHL) on Easter Sunday in 2023 amidst a health challenge. Inspired by the Easter story and the promise of abundant life through the risen Saviour, the song proclaims faith in Christ’s life, which now resides within every believer.

Tosin recounts, “As I proclaimed the words of God as written in this song over myself while battling a potentially serious illness, I witnessed the hand of God intervene, reversing the negative diagnosis and restoring my body’s health and strength. I am now completely healed, and as I declared life and health, the Lord honoured His Word in my life!”

Tosin believes that every sick or dying person, or anyone seeking the life of Christ in various aspects of their lives, who also sing and declare the words of this song over themselves, will experience a miraculous turnaround in their situations, as the Lord has promised.
